How do they measure time? I mean in terms of days, weeks, months and years. Since a year is the amount of time it takes for the earth to revolve around the sun one can’t really apply that concept of a year to the star wars universe right? So do they have to reference the planet when they talk about time? Like 20 Earth years, 2 Alderaan days, 6 Dagobah months, etc?

They go by the Galactic Standard Calendar which is essentially measured by Coruscant and its orbit around it’s sun and main satellite. Most of the measurements of time are just like normal ones except there’s 5 days in a week as opposed to seven, 35 days in a month, months have 7 weeks, making years 368 days or something. The Hyperdrive Theory explains the bypass of relativity for space travel.

B, ladies and gentleman. BAMFiest of all BAMFs.

So, this is my Pile-O-Stuff! It’s a big Stack of some of my stuff. Some of it used to be on a shelf above my bed, but that started to look like it might fall on my head and, y’know, kill me. So that was moved. Then more was added and it became this. Excluding the Dalek and bear on top, it is literally half my height. It comes to almost exactly my waist if I stand beside it.

Behind me are some bookshelves full of stuff and my dressers lined with DVD boxsets (24 1-6+Redemption, Bones 1-5, Fringe 1+2 and House 1-6, btw). And yes, some of you may have noticed (a few stray DVDs yet to be put wherever they belong aside) that is indeed a specifically Whedon area by my computer. ‘Cause I may have mentioned, Whedon is my god.

For anyone who’s interested, it’s (from the bottom) Heroes 1&2, Doctor Who 1-3, All of Alias, All of BSG, Duma Key by Stephen King (to be read), All of Scott Pilgrim, You’re Next by Gregg Hurwitz (tbr), The Millennium Trilogy (tbr), Coen Brothers Collection, Fargo and a Hitchcock Collection. Plus my Dalek & Bear. :)

Plus my MIDI keyboard beside.

This has been a slight geekathon by David. Mainly because I’m bored waiting for Castle to work and let me watch.

I hope you enjoyed it.

I love everything about this. Seriously.

We were talking about identity… Or something. I wasn’t paying much attention…

Anyway! We were told to write down “who we are”, in a kind of “I am (a)…” kind if thing. Lame, yes. But my very first thought was “I am a Geek.”

This is, it seems, the very first thing I would use to describe myself. This is how I identify myself. And I’d have it no other way. Ever.

I fucking love being a huge ass geek.

And I will fight anyone who tries to say it’s anything but a good thing. Physically fight.

Excuse me while I change my pants…

WANT TO GO TO THERE.
